The Lower Ohura falls at low water.
The Ohura river flows into the Whanganui about 46 km below Taumarunui over a low fall. Whakahoro is 12 km further downstream.
It is a pleasant place to stop for lunch and to swim. There are two historic Niu poles up on the flat on the downstream side of the Ohura which are well worth visiting.
